Damascus Church welcomes interim Rev. Dr. Tony Cartledge. Tony is a retired Campbell University Divinity School Professor, where he taught Old Testament, writing, preaching, archaeology and ministerial courses. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia (BS in Education, 1973), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity, 1982), and Duke University (PhD, 1989). He has served as a pastor for over 26 years and has written more than two dozen books, countless articles both academic and for general audiences. He has lead many trips to Israel and to the West Bank, among other biblical lands. Tony and his wife Susan, a skilled nurse and accomplished painter, lives in Moncure, NC at Inkberry Hill Farm, where they offer private or small-group retreat space for ministers, artists, writers, and others. They enjoy travel, hiking, and participating in archaeological digs.
